We are passionate about the professional and personal development of our foster carers and want to ensure that you are fully skilled and confident to carry out the role. We provide high-quality training and continuing professional development opportunities for all our foster carers to meet the needs of the carer and the young person. All full-time foster carers must complete the following mandatory courses:
- HNC Social Services
- SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People)
These qualifications are certified by the Scottish Qualifications Authority and delivered by Kibble trainers and external assessors within the organisation.

We also have access to many additional resources and therapeutic interventions through being a part of one of the largest specialist childcare organisations in the country.
Do I need any qualifications to foster?
No, there are no training prerequisites to you wishing to become a foster carer with Kibble as all training will be provided upon registration. The most important thing is that you enjoy working with children and young people and you want to make a difference!
