Going for Gold at Summer Sports Camp
8 August 2025

This month, children, young people, foster carers and staff came together for a summer sports camp to remember! Fun and mayhem were the order of the day as our budding athletes took part in a series of sporting competitions in our gardens in Paisley to see who would claim victory.
The sporting rulebook was well and truly cast aside, and instead, we opted for hilarious hula hoop competitions, dodgeball, beat the goalie, a game of catch, and water balloon battles. We’re still not over the hilarity of watching staff member Chris attempt star jumps… and fail miserably! The sky was the limit when it came to how silly the games got as the day went on.
After all the excitement, we held our glittering medal ceremony and congratulated our fellow sporting heroes on their achievements.
With weary legs and sides sore from laughing, it was time to refuel with a healthy picnic in the garden. To cool down, two young people even chose to pour water—and fizzy juice—over their heads. Why not, eh? Life can be too serious, after all!
It was a truly fun day and a great chance to bring everyone together during the school holidays. The children have enjoyed a packed programme of activities this summer, including camping in Glencoe, a lodge weekend at Loch Tay, Blair Drummond Safari Park, the Alpine Coaster, fishing trips, and more.
Thank you to everyone who organised, joined in, and made the day so special for the children and families.
